🖊️ Evangel Daily Meal 1 August 2024 COMMENTARY
Jesus commissioned his disciples to go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the father, Son, and the Holy spirit. This commission is significant because it demonstrates the importance of sharing the gospel with others and making disciples of Jesus Christ.
The Great Commission explains what Christians are expected to be doing during the period between His first and second coming, and how they are to do it and the result they should expect from the work. Believers are therefore expected to perform this task by teaching about God’s love for the nations.
In this message today, believers are reminded of their task and how they should go about it. After Jesus brought salvation to the world by shedding His blood on the cross, He gave a command to all believers to go and spread the gospel to all nations.
Making disciples of all nations requires us to put God’s will above our own. It takes commitment and sacrifice, if we put God’s kingdom first, he will take care of all that concern us. If you want to make disciples of all nations, you must have a “kingdom mindset.”
The goal of the Christian Church is in the Great Commission. In Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus instructs believers to make disciples of non-believers, baptizing them, and teaching them God’s ways. This is the only way that we can populate the body of Christ. Therefore a commitment to the great commission requires a commitment to Christ and to one another. It also involves Christ-centered, gospel-driven fellowship. Luke 24:44-49.

Heavenly Father,
I come to You in humility and repentance, acknowledging my sins and my need for Your grace. Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God, who died for my sins and rose again to give me eternal life. I confess You as my Savior and Lord.
Forgive me, cleanse me with Your precious blood, and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. I turn away from my sinful ways and open my heart to You. Take control of my life and guide me in Your truth.
