This is Mountain Top Life MFM Daily Devotional 1 August 2024 By Dr. D.K Olukoya: Dangers Of An Unbridled Tongue
TOPIC: Dangers Of An Unbridled Tongue (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional for 1 August 2024)
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalms 148; Psalms 149; Hebrews 13; James 1
Fire Scriptures: James 3: 1-13
3 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
3 Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.
5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
Memory Verse (Mountain Top Life MFM Daily Devotional 1 August 2024)
If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
James 1:26
PRAISE AND WORSHIP: Take praise and worship songs as led by the Holy Spirit.
PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY: Every evil tongue raised against you shall be condemned, in the name of Jesus.
MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES:
The tongue is a dangerous organ of the body. Be careful how you use it.
MFM Daily Devotional for Today 1 August 2024 MESSAGE
The unbridled tongue is the tongue that lacks control. Anything that is out of control will do much harm. The unbridled tongue will curse, speak profanity and make negative confessions.
The unbridled tongue will be flippant, talkative and speak profanity. The unbridled tongue is indeed destructive.
Therefore, it is very important to understand the proper use of the tongue as a child of God because there is power in the spoken word. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” If life and death are in the power of the tongue, it simply means that the tongue can make or mar a man.
Its use determines the good or the bad that happens to a person’s life. If you use your tongue well, you will be blessed but you will experience the opposite if you put it to the wrong use. What a person experiences in life may be the consequences of the words he has spoken in the past.

A lot of people think that the words we speak are ordinary, but they are not. Jesus said to His disciples in John 6: 63, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” Our words carry power, whether negative or positive.
God has given man a lot of power. And one of such powers is the power of the tongue. But when it becomes uncontrollable, it can be a very dangerous destroyer.
The reason why a lot of people are in bondage today can be traced to their tongues. How to put this powerful organ of the body to profitable use should be of great concern to every believer who wants to enjoy the benefits of the power in the spoken word.

Forgive me, cleanse me with Your precious blood, and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. I turn away from my sinful ways and open my heart to You. Take control of my life and guide me in Your truth.
