TOPIC: When God Visits You (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional for 18 August 2024 Sunday)
MEMORY VERSE
For with God nothing shall be impossible.
Luke 1:37
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ecclesiastes 1; Ecclesiastes 2; Revelation 13; Revelation 14
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Luke 1:26-38
26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

MFM Devotional for Today 18 August 2024 MESSAGE
God visited Abraham through the three angelic creatures that manifested as men, resulting in multiple blessings. Abraham, on his part, gave them a warm and rousing welcome and entertained them. He and his wife received the prophecy of the promised child, Isaac. It happened as it was said; the word of God doesn’t fail.
God did the same for Mary, the mother of Jesus, as recorded in today’s Fire Scripture. He chose Mary over many other young ladies of her age at that time as the divine vessel to bring forth the promised child, Jesus Christ, the Messiah.
She was greatly surprised to receive angel Gabriel, the Archangel that carries good tidings from God to men. How can it be? What qualifies her for this divine privilege? She wasn’t allowed to say yes or no, nor did she entertain any doubt. As an obedient young lady, she received the word of God in faith, believing that God can fulfil His word.

God is still in the business of visiting people and blessing them. He shall visit and bless your household, in the name of Jesus. But God demands that you act in faith, total obedience and reverence to Him. When you have a reason to doubt, argue or disobey God, such visitations don’t bring forth testimonies.
Zacharias the priest, doubted God; he queried the angel that brought him the good news of the birth of John the Baptist. Instantly he became dumb until the naming ceremony of his child (Luke 1:19-20). God surely has His reasons, knowing fully well that such persons are acting in unbelief. Even, Manoah and his wife had an angelic visitation and were told about the birth and consecration of their son, Samson.
They were to ensure that their growing son obeyed God to the letter. Unfortunately, Samson loved to have whatever he desired and this led him to early death through the lap of Delilah.
Mary remains our worthy example of what to do when God visits us. She said,” Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.“ That was total submission to God. I pray that God will favour and visit you today, in the name of Jesus.
