THEME: AVOID WORDLY PRESSURE

MEMORISE:
For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
Hebrews 2:18

Open Heavens for Teens July 19th 2024 BIBLE READING: ROMANS 12:1-2

[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

[2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Open Heavens for Teens July 19th 2024 MESSAGE:

The world is filled with so many distractions that can hinder a child of God from focusing on his or her purpose. Pressure abounds in families, schools, churches, neighborhoods, et cetera, but you have been called to stand out for God in the midst of pressure.

Are you experiencing peer pressure, and your friends are encouraging you to do things that are wrong or things that make you feel uncomfortable? You may feel that not doing their bidding will make them unfriend you. However, if you are a Christian, God wants you to honour Him by living a life that pleases Him and not your friends. He expects you to look less like your friends and more like Jesus.

Do you know that even Jesus experienced pressure and temptations when He was on the earth? He, however, overcame them. Therefore, whenever you’re tempted, know that Jesus knows exactly how you feel, and He wants you to resist worldly pressure by His grace.

If you have fallen into pressure, Jesus wants you to confess your sins now and promise not to go back to them again. Ask for His help to stand firm and not give in to pressure.

HYMN 10: O GOD OUR HELP IN AGES PAST

O God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home.
Before the hills in order stood,
Or earth received her frame,
From everlasting Thou art God,
To endless years the same.
A thousand ages in Thy sight
Are like an evening gone;
Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.
Time, like an ever-rolling stream,
Bears all its sons away;
They fly forgotten, as a dream
Dies at the opening day.
O God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Be Thou our guard while life shall last,
And our eternal home.

    Heavenly Father,

    I come to You in humility and repentance, acknowledging my sins and my need for Your grace. Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God, who died for my sins and rose again to give me eternal life. I confess You as my Savior and Lord.

    Forgive me, cleanse me with Your precious blood, and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. I turn away from my sinful ways and open my heart to You. Take control of my life and guide me in Your truth.

    If you joined in that life-changing prayer, congratulations! We are happy that you have surrendered your life to Jesus!
