DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR YOUTHS AND STUDENTS. Today’s devotional for 24th October 2026, inspired by the teaching of Apostle Arome Osayi. Topic: Stop Living Below Who God Made You to Be.
MEMORY VERSE: “And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” – Revelation 5:10 (KJV)
TEXT: John 20:19–23
TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL
Many believers love Easter Sunday but live like Friday never ended. They know Jesus died for them, yet they carry themselves as if the grave still has a say over their lives. Look at the setting of today’s text. The disciples were behind closed doors, afraid, whispering, and unsure of tomorrow. Then Jesus walked in as the risen Lord and the first thing He gave them was peace. Resurrection changes the atmosphere before it changes the circumstances.
Then He said something that should shake every one of us: “As my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.” Notice that the sending came after the resurrection, not before it. Jesus did not hand out assignments to frightened people from the grave’s side of things. He gave them a calling that was powered by a life that death could not hold. Your calling, whatever form it takes, is meant to run on that same resurrection power.
This is why so many Christians feel stuck. They are trying to fulfil a resurrection assignment with a Friday mindset. They shrink back, explain away their fear, and settle for a smaller version of the life God designed. But Scripture says you were made a king and a priest. A king exercises authority. A priest draws near to God on behalf of others. Both identities require you to stop hiding and start standing.
Being sent also means you are not self-appointed. The one who sends you stands behind you. When a person walks in the authority of the sender, the opposition may rage, yet it cannot cancel what heaven has authorised. Not everyone who is sent stands behind a pulpit. God sends people into classrooms, offices, markets, hospitals, studios, and homes. Wherever He has placed you, you are His representative there.
To the student and the young person reading this: you may feel too young, too unknown, or too ordinary to carry anything significant. Social media tells you who to be, your results tell you who to fear, and your environment tells you to keep your head down. But your identity was settled before your first lecture or your first job. Do not let a failed exam, a bad habit, or the opinions of your friends define the ceiling of your life. Study hard, pray harder, and carry yourself like someone who has been sent.
Living below who God made you to be is usually not a lack of ability but a lack of agreement. You agree with fear, with shame, with old labels, with the voice that says “who do you think you are?” Today, agree with the Word instead. Receive His peace, receive His breath, and step out as one who is sent. The same power that rolled the stone away is available to you.
KEY POINT: You were sent with resurrection power, so refuse to live beneath the identity and authority God has already given you.

DAILY PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I receive Your peace today and I refuse to live below the identity You have given me. Forgive me for agreeing with fear and doubt. Fill me afresh with Your Spirit, and help me walk as one who is sent, in my school, my home, and everywhere You place me. Let the power of the resurrection show in my life, my calling, and my character, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
