Devotional for Youths and Students 6th November 2026 – Tracking Your Walk With God

DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR YOUTHS AND STUDENTS. Today’s devotional for 6th November 2026, inspired by the teaching of Apostle Arome Osayi. Topic: Tracking Your Walk With God.

MEMORY VERSE: “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” – 2 Corinthians 13:5 (KJV)

TEXT: John 3:1-10

TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL

Nicodemus had an impressive résumé. He was a man, a Pharisee, a ruler and a Jew, and John introduces him with every one of those titles. Yet when he came to Jesus by night, the Lord ignored the titles and went straight to the condition of his heart: “Ye must be born again.” Heaven does not measure us by our labels, our positions or how long we have been around church. It measures the real state of our walk with God.

Many believers can describe their activity but cannot describe their growth. They attend services, join groups, speak in tongues, and sing on the choir, yet if you asked whether they are closer to God today than they were a year ago, they would struggle to answer. Activity is not the same as progress. A person can be busy in the things of God and still be standing in the same spot, struggling with the same sin and carrying the same weaknesses year after year.

Tracking your walk with God means getting honest enough to ask hard questions. Do I hear Him more clearly than before? Do I obey faster? Has my prayer life deepened, or has it become a routine I rush through? Is there a sin I keep calling “a weakness” when God is calling it a door I must close? It also means refusing to surround yourself only with voices that comfort you in a lie. The people who help you grow are the ones who love you enough to tell you the truth.

Notice that Nicodemus came by night. He was not ready to be seen, but he was ready to be honest with Jesus, and that was enough to begin. You do not need to have everything figured out. You only need to bring your real self to the Lord, without the titles, the performance or the excuses, and let His Spirit show you where you truly stand.

To students and young people: You track your grades every term. You know your results, your weak subjects and what you must improve before the next exam. Do the same with your spiritual life. Keep a simple journal: how many days this week you prayed, what you read in the Word, what God spoke to you, and where you fell short. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you one area to grow in this month. Do not compare yourself with friends who seem to be doing better. Compare yourself with who you were last month. Growth that is measured is growth that continues, and the habits you build now will carry you through university, work and life.

Finally, remember that God is not waiting to condemn you when you discover areas of weakness. He is waiting to help you. The point of examining yourself is not shame; it is direction. When you see where you are, you can finally move toward where He wants you to be.

KEY POINT: Busy religious activity is not proof of growth, so honestly examine your walk with God and let the Holy Spirit lead you forward.

DAILY PRAYER

Father, thank You for loving me enough to show me the truth about myself. Search my heart and reveal every area where I have been pretending or standing still. Forgive me for relying on titles and activity instead of true intimacy with You. Holy Spirit, teach me to hear You, obey You and grow daily in my walk with God. Give me the courage to be honest and the discipline to keep growing, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
