DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR YOUTHS AND STUDENTS. Today’s devotional for 1st November 2026, inspired by the teaching of Apostle Arome Osayi. Topic: How to Find God’s Voice for Direction Even in the Noise.

MEMORY VERSE: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.” – John 5:19 (KJV)

TEXT: Revelation 1:1-2; Acts 26:16

TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL

We live in the loudest generation in history. Notifications, trending topics, group chats, opinions from friends and family, and the constant hum of social media all compete for your attention. In the middle of all that noise, many young believers sincerely ask, “How do I know what God wants me to do?” The good news is that God has never struggled to make Himself heard. The real work is learning to position ourselves so that we can hear.

The book of Revelation opens with a beautiful chain of communication. It is “the Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants.” The Father gave it to the Son, the Son sent it by His angel, and the angel delivered it to John. Direction in God’s kingdom flows through a line of trust and order. Even Jesus, the Son of God, did not move on His own initiative. He only did what He saw the Father doing. If the Lord Jesus depended that completely on the Father’s direction, how much more do we?

This tells us something important about authority and covering. When you move in the direction God has shown you, heaven backs you up. When you move on your own ideas, however sincere or exciting, you step outside that covering and become exposed. Saul of Tarsus carried official letters and had impressive human authority, yet he was heading in the very opposite direction from God’s will. Activity is not the same as assignment. You can be busy, confident and even respected, and still be going the wrong way.

Then Jesus met Saul on the road and said, “Rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose.” God interrupted a man who was certain about his route, and gave him a purpose and a direction that no human letter could ever give. Notice that the voice came when Saul was stopped, face down, and silent. God often speaks most clearly when we stop talking, stop rushing, and make room to listen.

To the student and the young person: your future is full of decisions about courses, careers, relationships, friendships and callings, and everyone around you has an opinion. Opinions have their place, and wise counsel is a gift, but nothing replaces your own personal hearing from God. Build a daily habit of quiet time with your Bible open, your phone on silent, and your heart ready. Ask Him for direction and then actually wait. Write down what He impresses on you, and test it against the Scriptures. His voice will never contradict His Word, and over time you will recognise it the way a child recognises a parent’s voice in a crowded market.

Finally, remember that hearing is a relationship before it is a technique. Jesus said His sheep hear His voice. You do not earn the ability to hear by performing; you grow in it by staying close to the Shepherd. Reduce the noise you can control, obey the last thing He told you, and trust Him with the next step. The God who gave a whole revelation to John on the island of Patmos can certainly guide you through your exams, your choices and your tomorrow.

KEY POINT: God’s direction is clearest to those who quiet the noise, stay close to Him, and move only when and where He leads.

DAILY PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You that You are a God who speaks. Today I turn down the noise of this world and tune my heart to Your voice. Give me a listening ear and an obedient spirit. Order my steps in my studies, my friendships and my future, and keep me from running ahead of You or moving without Your covering. Speak to me through Your Word, and let me recognise Your voice and follow it all the days of my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
