MFM Devotional 13 June 2026 – Repair Broken Relationships (I)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalms 12; Psalms 13; Psalms 14; Acts 28; Romans 1

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Philemon 1:8-21

MEMORY VERSE: Ephesians 4:32
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE: It takes divine courage to mend broken relationships.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY: May the Lord give you the heart that loves and forgives, in the name of Jesus.

Sequel to the last message on the power of reconciliation, we are called to follow the footsteps of Jesus and do likewise. He laid down His life for our sakes, that all who desire to be called children of God may receive forgiveness of sins and be reconciled to God. If Jesus did so much for us, why can’t we emulate Him? There is great peace and joy in mending broken relationships, restoring love and harmony. It is a price to pay as Jesus did.

It is a rewarding experience that never leaves you the same. You become better, enjoying stronger fellowship with God and a stronger bond of love with fellow men. Beloved, relationships are meant to be nurtured. Whenever issues arise, you are to confront them, manage and resolve conflicts responsibly, especially when such occur between you and your loved ones, brethren in church, fellowship or even colleagues at work. How do we claim to be children of the same Father, yet remain at loggerheads? How do you feel when you lift up your hands before God, in praise and prayers, asking Him to forgive you as you forgive those that offend you, but you know you really have not forgiven? What a deception. God cannot be mocked.

Does God not see your heart? You say in your heart, “Over my dead body are we going to be friends again.” Have you forgotten that no sinner or abominable thing will enter into heaven? Definitely, there is no place for such persons in heaven. Neither is there an opportunity to repent in hell. Why not think about it and do the needful now? This is a serious matter. You claim that the pain of the offence is so much, you cannot let go. But wait a minute, remember Christ. If Jesus were to weigh the load of our sins and the pain that we have caused God and are probably still causing Him, no one would be qualified to be called a Christian. If Jesus forgave and still forgives, you can and should do the same.
